We had a short chat with Tan Xinning aka @fightingflaws, the photographer and model for the Spaces Between campaign. A long time friend of the brand, Xinning is a highly sought after wedding photographer, and has branched out into shooting portraiture and fashion as well.
Hello Xinning! Tell us a bit more about yourself and what you do.
Hi Shannon, I’m a graphic designer turned photographer. Documenting people from all walks of life and through different milestones. What I love and appreciate the most will be the relationship formed from my work.
What goes through your mind when looking behind your lens. 📷
How do I translate ideas into each frame.
What was your approach for shooting this and how is it different from your regular work.
It’s not every project you get to direct, shoot and be the model. Given free rein, I shot more from the heart than head.
I am and have been obsessed with bodies for a really long time and I could direct myself in a way it would have been weird to direct somebody else.
Which part of the process was a highlight for you.
The process of showing the uniqueness of each piece. How it falls, how it flows and how it accentuates parts of the body.

We broke the shirt. The Apse is a romantic, deconstructed shirt reworked into an apron top, with full flare controlled by single yoke, and limitless styling potential. The full bared-back makes this a great party addition, and also works as a great statement piece to layer over a tank top or dress.
If you ask us, just pair it with a super voluminous pair of pants.
